On Oct 19th, 2013, the Can-Kan will be sponsoring the Caney Zombie Walk! For a $5 (pre-register) donation, you will be able to dress like a zombie (or if zombies aren’t you thing, dress normal and be a survivor!) and make the trek from the Wark Memorial Park across the street from the current Library, down 5th street to State street (Where our new Library will be built) around the block and back to the park. There will be a police escort, and lots of fun! If you can’t pre-register, a donation of $7 at the park can register you starting at 11:30. The walk will begin at 1 pm. Between 11:30 and 1, there will a park full of activities to do: face painting, vendors, demonstrations on how to: treat a human bite, karate defense, proper hand washing and precautions for airborne pathogens, lessons on disaster preparedness (and Fred the Preparedness Dog will be attending as well!), SEK Bordertown Paranormal group booth with chances on winning a spot to go on a “hunt” with them, Butterfly Kisses Candy Bouquets will have creepy, yummy candy bouquets, just to name a FEW! These places will have “swag” to hand out, and also, there will be free games for kids to play. There will be something for everyone! Come on out that day and support the Library!
